Wyndham Grand Regency Doha Brightens in Qatar International Food Festival

Wyndham Grand Regency Hotel captured visitors with its Chopsticks restaurant, offering the best of the Far Eastern cuisine, on the seventh edition of Qatar International Food Festival which was held at the Museum of Islamic Art Park. This included the most famous Chopsticks fried rice and Prawns and Vegetable tempura, Hakka Noodles and Thai fish curry which saw the public lined up in big queues.

A Brew’d Awakening: Wyndham Grand® Introduces Brew Parlor

DOHA, Qatar (January 14, 2016) – Wyndham Grand® is bringing a new buzz to the traditional coffeehouse experience with the launch of Brew Parlor: a fresh take on afternoon happy hour where people can meet, recharge, or simply take a breather over cold-brewed coffee-based drinks developed in partnership with the brand’s ‘Chef de Caffeine’, award-winning culinary personality, Chef Stephanie Izard.

Coffee lovers will experience cold-brewed pick-me-ups and hand-crafted caffeinated cocktails beginning January 14, 2016, from 4 pm – 6 pm every Sunday through Thursday at Wyndham Grand’s Brew Parlor pilot hotels in Doha, Qatar; Chicago, U.S.; Shenzhen, China; and Istanbul, Turkey.

Wyndham Grand’s Brew Parlor is centred on cold-brewed coffee, an artisanal yet approachable trending drink consisting of coffee brewed with cold or room-temperature water, producing a condensed, smooth, and full flavour. Cold-brewed coffee is making its presence known in coffee shops around the world, reaching US$7.9 million in sales in the US – a 115% increase over the past year according to Mintel – and popping up throughout Europe. A study by Euromonitor International shows bottled cold brew is growing in sales worldwide, faster than any other bottled non-alcoholic beverage.

Not only is coffee a universal daily beverage, but it has become an increasingly popular ingredient in sweets and savoury dishes. Izard has created several proprietary cold-brewed coffee beverages available only at Wyndham Grand’s Brew Parlor like Five Spice Shaken Iced Coffee with Thai chili, cinnamon, clove, star anise and sweetened condensed milk; Cafe Olé with dark chocolate, brown sugar and ancho and guajillo chilies; and Biscotti Coffee with almond whipped cream and simple syrup made of star anise, fennel seed, and orange zest.

Green Hoteliers Sealine Beach Cleaning Campaign

DOHA, Qatar (OCTOBER 31, 2015) – Under the motto of “Think Green. Think Clean” Wyndham Grand Regency and Regency Sealine camp hosted the “Green Hoteliers – Sealine beach Cleanup campaign” with more than 10 participating hotels, including Marriott Doha, Marriott Marquis City Center Doha, W-Doha, Oryx Rotana Doha, The Torch, Grand Hyatt Doha, Shangri-la Hotel Doha, Melia Doha, Ramada Encore Doha, Retaj Hospitality and Wyndham Grand Regency, hand in hand worked together to clean up debris from the 13km Sealine shore.

Participants were greeted at the meeting point in Sealine with cold refreshments; they then were escorted by car troops to the gathering area. Each team members received a kit including hand gloves, garbage bags and refreshment along with labeled caps and team number flag. Once teams were equipped each headed to their sections and started the cleaning process which lasted for about 3 hours. The debris where transported by trucks from each team leader.

Ayman Lotfy, Cluster General Manager for Wyndham Grand Regency Hotel Doha and Ramada Encore Doha commented on the event, saying: “It brings me great honor to contribute and be part of a making a difference to help our environment. It is delightful to have so many join us hand in hand knowing in making a difference for a brighter future! Once the cleaning was done, all participants headed to Regency Sealine Camp where a mouth-watering buffet of food and deserts awaited them with refreshments to cool off after 3 hours of hard work! A joyful atmosphere was filled with the sounds of a pianist, singer and harpist which gave a boost of fun and playful vibes!  Gazebos where occupied by on the spot massages giving an ultimate relaxing experience to the participants. Each team received a recognition certificate for being part of making a differenc­e to start a change and help our environment, our planet, our home.

Biggest Dates Cake in Doha at Qatar National Day

Doha, Qatar (December 6, 2012) – This month, Wyndham Grand Regency Doha will be celebrating Qatar National Day in true “Grand” style. Beneath the hotel’s façade, which will be adorned with a huge Qatari flag and special lighting effects, guests and visitors to the hotel on December 18 will be treated to slices of the biggest cake in Doha, served by staff dressed in traditional costume, starting at 7:30am. There will also be the chance to win fantastic prizes by entering the hotel’s online photography competition.
