Spanish Paella Festival Week at Wyndham Grand Regency Doha Hotel

Doha, Qatar (February 19, 2012) – Wyndham Grand Regency Doha opens its doors this week to the Spanish food lovers. The Spanish Paella festival is not just a festival but, it is a live show of the authentic art of cooking by chef “Jameel El Nabtiti” in the main restaurant “Grand Gourmet” which is decorated with the Spanish elegant thriving colors to keep on the Spanish spirit all over the week.

The opening night has been held on Saturday in a Spanish elegant atmosphere while listening to the Spanish band & enjoying the marvelous Spanish buffet & the delightful celebration. Inaugural live kitchen, featuring aromatic four different menus of Spanish paella with seafood, meatballs, chicken and vegetables, were skillfully plated by “Jameel El Nabtiti”, Executive Chef. Jameel revealed to us a fact about the Paella which is; “Paella comes from the Arabic ‘baqiyah’ which stands in Arabic for ‘leftovers’. It is said that paella was originally a poor man’s dish and was a way of using up leftovers.”

“Eman Abela” the director of F&B & all the department managers of the hotel welcomed the guests and shared this fabulous night celebration.  Eman commented on this event; “Keeping in mind that we always put the guests first we cannot forget about rewarding the efforts of the Team Members who are the foundation of our continued success.” Eman continued his speech by expressing his happiness to the media representatives for their being always committed & keen to attend all the hotel events, especially this important event and concluded his speech that he is looking forward for more successful events & more fruitful media communications.
