1989 – 1991 National University of Culture, Armenia, “Cinema production, direction and script writing”.
1976 – 1980 Art Academy of Armenia. Training to become an art teacher (painting and drawing).
2002 – present Guidance counsellor and art teacher at “Atelier Anders Bekeken” from Reakt Foundation in The Hague.
2010 – Film “Kalina – Malina” (dolby digital 2.0, 66 min.). This film is about perseverance and that if you really want something, you will get it.
2008 – Film “Anders is leuk” (dolby digital 2.0, 90 min.). This film is about the beauty of art and the absurdities in this world.
2005 – Commissioned by the Reakt Foundation, I made the film “Dancing in the rain” (“Dansen in de regen”) (digital video, 75 min.) The theme of the film is rehabilitation.
2003 – 2006 I set up an art studio for drug addicts for Parnassia psychiatric center in The Hague.
2002 – Film “The Wedding” (“De Bruiloft”) (digital video, 25 min.) This film is about the last hallucinations of a homeless man dying in the street.
2000 Scenario for “Agape”, about Divine love.
1999 – 2002 Concierge for Theater aan het Spui in The Hague.
1993 Direction and production of my films “Orsia” and “Oleo”. Both films have been shown at several film festivals. The theme of “Orsia” (color, 35 mm, 20 min.) is: don’t kill, every killer kills himself. The theme of “Oleo” ( color, 35 mm, 10 min.) is the opposite of war and pain: the beauty of art, music and love.
1992 Direction and production of my film “Avlos” (zwart-wit, 35 mm, 10 min.) This film is about the illusions that people chase to give meaning to their lives.
1991 Art director and leading actor in the German production “Avetik”.
1990 Art director of several Armenian films.
1980 – 1987 Commissioned by the Ministry of Culture in Armenia, I set up a school for artistic education. I was director and teacher at this school. This whole period, I remained faithful to my art and I made a lot of paintings (which can be seen on my website www.alik.nl). I exhibited my work in several galleries and public spaces:
